THE LIBRARY IS A FUN PLACE FOR CHILDREN TO LEARN ABOUT THE WORLD IN THIS BUMBLEMEN CARTOON. THEY VISIT OUTER SPACE IN A ROCKET SHIP AS WELL AS LEARN ABOUT CLEANING UP THE OCEAN IN A SUBMARINE. THEY VISIT A FARM AND SING WITH THE COWS AND THE CHICKENS. OPEN UP A BOOK AND TAKE A GOOD LOOK IS WHAT THEY SING. IF YOU LOVE TO READ COME ALONG WITH ME. IT TEACHES YOU TO GET A LIBRARY CARD AND CHECK IT OUT. RODNEY WODSWORTH THE BOOK WORM FINDS OUT THAT YOU MUST BE QUIET IN THE LIBRARY. THIS IS VERY ENTERTAINING FOR SMALL CHILDREN AND IT HAS A CATCHY MELODY LIKE AN EARLY ROLLING STONE'S SONG. THE BUMBLEMEN ARE INFLUENCED BY WALT DISNEY, THE BEATLES, FRANK ZAPPA, BOB DYLAN, DR SUESS, SHELL SILVERSTIEN, MARK TWAIN, KEITH EMERSON, SWAN LAKE AND EARL PALMER. CHILDREN ALL OVER THE WORLD NEED TO FIND OUT ABOUT THE PLEASURE OF READING. IT CAN BE AN ESCAPE THE ENHANCES YOU BRAIN AND HELPS YOU LIFT YOURSELF ABOVE ANY NEGATIVE CIRCUMSTANCES. MANY BIG STARS EITHER FROM THE ROCK'N ROLL WORLD OR FROM MOVIES HAVE SPENT TIME PROMOTING THE JOYS OF READING. NOW THIS GROOVY BAND OF BEES JUMP ON THE BANDWAGON.

Starring the Bumblemen

NARRATOR: Library, taking you 'round the world!
[cut to inside of a library, as an anthropomorphic bumblebee sits in front of a group of bee children and opens a book]
NARRATOR: Open up a book and take a good look!
[the camera zooms in on the illustration inside the book, showing a bumblebee man on a surfboard (while another bumblebee man sits on his shoulders and reads a book)]
NARRATOR: It's the library, taking you 'round the world! Just open up a book and take a good look!
[cut to another bumblebee man sitting on the Great Wall of China, while a panda opens a book with pictures of roses and rickshaws]
NARRATOR: Hey, don't you love to read?
[cut to a bumblebee woman sitting in a chair, reading a book while hearts appear over her head]
NARRATOR: Come along with me, and we'll have some fun!
[cut to a bumblebee couple riding a gondola in Venice, as the male bumblebee puts a ring on the finger of the female one]
NARRATOR: You bet!
[cut to a male bumblebee librarian sitting at a desk outdoors, surrounded by piles of books and bumblebee patrons reading]
NARRATOR: There's pages and pages ...

[the picture changes to a bumblebee man in clown makeup]

[cut to a green bookworm sitting on a flying carpet, surrounded by Arabian-style buildings]
BOOKWORM: Hello! It's me, Wodsworth the Bookworm!
NARRATOR: The library ...
BOOKWORM: Hoo hoo!
NARRATOR: Taking you 'round the world!
[cut to a bumblebee man reading a book while standing next to a British telephone booth (reading "Baker St.")]
NARRATOR: Open up a book and take a good look!
[cut to a bumblebee man standing next to the Parthenon, as he opens a book with a picture of the same scene]
NARRATOR: It's the library ...
[cut to a bumblebee man in the jungle, surrounded by animals, as he opens a book with a picture of an elephant]
NARRATOR: Taking you 'round the world!
[cut to a bumblebee man in Australia (holding a duck billed platypus), then to another bumblebee man in a canoe reading a book]
NARRATOR: Open up a book and take a good look!
[cut to a bumblebee man standing in front of the pyramids, looking at a book with a magnifying glass while a camel reads over his shoulder]
NARRATOR: You can be on a farm ...
[cut to a cow standing in front of a barn, as chickens stick their heads out of the nearby bales of hay]
NARRATOR: With the chickens and the cow, playing in the hay.
[cut to an Arctic setting, as another bumblebee man and a polar bear are ice fishing]
NARRATOR: Or you can be an Eskimo, where it's cold from the snow.
[the polar bear lifts his rod to reveal a small fish on the hook, then puts it back in ... only to pull it back up to reveal he's caught a small purple whale!]
NARRATOR: You can learn as you play!
[cut to another bumblebee man opening up a book, as balloon animals float out of the pages]
NARRATOR: So much fun, everyday!
[cut to two bumblebee men (each sitting on a pile of books) in space, orbiting around the Earth]
NARRATOR: The library, taking you 'round the world!
[cut to an interior shot of a spaceship, as the bumblebee astronaut turns to the camera and gives a thumbs up]
NARRATOR: You're on a rocket ship to Mars, as you read about the stars!
[cut to inside of a library, as a bumblebee woman standing on a ladder pulls a book off the top shelf ... but that causes another book to fall and hit a bumblebee man on the head]
NARRATOR: It's the library, fun for every boy and girl!
[cut to the bottom of the ocean, as a bumblebee man pilots a submarine and uses its robotic arms to pick up a car tire]
NARRATOR: Riding in a submarine, learn to make the ocean clean!
[cut to an elderly bumblebee man holding up a book, as the bookworm looks on]
NARRATOR: They have all kinds of books, from "A" to "Z"! But be quiet ... whisper, don't shout.
BOOKWORM: Sorry.
[cut to the bookworm crawling across the screen, as another bumblebee man holds up a library card ("Library Card 5378640982671")]
NARRATOR: But if you run outta time, get a library card ...
[cut to a bumblebee woman librarian (pink skin, cats-eye glasses, red lipstick, purple and gray shirt) stamping books for a long line of patrons]
NARRATOR: Then you check them out!
[cut to outside of the library, as the patrons exit carrying big stacks of books (and the bookworm crawls across the screen)]
BOOKWORM: Woo hoo!
NARRATOR: Check 'em out! Check 'em out! Check 'em out!
BOOKWORM: Books, they make me wanna shout!
NARRATOR: Check 'em out! Check 'em out! Check 'em out and take them home!
BOOKWORM: Oh, but you must be quiet in the library ...
[cut to a giant book opening up, as several of the characters previously seen during the cartoon come spilling out]
NARRATOR: Library! It's the library! Library! It's the library!
[the bookworm sticks its head up into the scene]
BOOKWORM: Check it out!
[he pauses, as the music stops]
BOOKWORM: Hello ... shhh.
