School librarian Elizabeth Kinkade has lost her job and faces criminal prosecution for allegedly having sex with an 18-year-old man student.
The 37-year-old librarian was recently employed at Tonasket High School in Washington. There are few details about the affair but police don't believe any sex took place on campus. The sexual relationship is believed to have lasted two months.
Tonasket High School found out about the affair and suspended Kinkade.
Kinkade went home to tell her husband, who got angry. He went to his car, grabbed a gun and fired off a few rounds into the air.
Police were called and then Superintendent Paul Turner showed up. He told the cops to arrest and investigate Elizabeth Kinkade.
Washington is one of 31 states where the age of consent is 16. Even though the victim was 18, sex between a school employee and an adult is illegal.

TONASKET, Wash. - Tonasket Police confirm they have arrested a librarian from Tonasket High School, amid allegations she was having a sexual relationship with a student.
Elizabeth Kinkade was arrested Tuesday night on suspicion of sexual misconduct with a minor and was scheduled to appear in court Wednesday afternoon.
Police say the charges involve a student at Tonasket High School who is at least 18 years old. But, a Washington law dictates a person can be considered a minor in cases like this if the adult in the case is a school employee.
Police do not believe there are any other victims.
Kinkade, 37, was booked Tuesday night into the Okanogan County Jail, made a preliminary appearance in court and was released on her own recognizance. She was ordered to have no contact with the victim. She has not been formally charged yet, but it is expected she will be by May 23. Her arraignment is scheduled for June 2.
Tonasket School District Superintendent Paul Turner said that at a special school board meeting Wednesday, the school board voted to terminate Kinkade as an employee effective immediately.
