Shhhh

Scrub away the caked-on empathy
You got a natural defense against build up of anything
War is over, everyone agrees
You don't weep for nothing and you won't lose any sleep
To everyone who caught your act
Everyone who's got your back
To everyone who tries to get too close
You say leave some room for the Holy Ghost
But you push away the angels and the Host
Because Heaven is a place you fear the most
You say leave some room for the Holy Ghost

Just close your eyes and count to five and breathe
All this shivering and shaking, it don't come to disease
War is over, everyone agrees
You don't weep for nothing and you won't lose any sleep
Just an entropic event
Not God given, not God sent
To everyone who tries to get too close
You say leave some room for the Holy Ghost
But you push away the angels and the Host
Because Heaven is a place you fear the most
You say leave some room for the Holy Ghost

Like the calm before the storm
Like the right before the wrong
To everyone who tries to get too close
You say leave some room for the Holy Ghost
But you push away the angels and the Host
Because Heaven is a place you fear the most
You say leave some room for the Holy Ghost
Just leave some room for the Holy Ghost
Just leave some room for the Holy Ghost

From sleepovershows.com:

As with every fulfilling library experience, our time with the Michael J. Epstein Memorial Library began with a proper shushing. Having been welcomed into their home, with the furniture rearranged to accommodate all eight members, we knew we were in for a special evening. But we didn't know just how much fun we'd have. We have to admit, here at Sleepover Shows, we were very excited for this particular set. Since we started, we've tried to highlight some of the best local acts right alongside the bands touring through the city, and we can't think of a better group to help out than this one. Michael J. Epstein and Sophia Cacciola have been an integral part of the Boston music scene for many years, in various incarnations. From The Motion Sick to Neutral Uke Hotel and Do Not Forsake Me Oh My Darling, they have helped produce some great tunes. But for now, they have pulled a new book off the shelves, and we were lucky to get three songs off their upcoming debut album.

One thing we can say is that MJEML was prepared. Having donned slippers of various types–sock monkeys included–the band settled in for what has been one of our most enjoyable sets to capture. They were all so gracious, and it was obvious that this group of musicians thoroughly enjoyed being with each other and playing great music. Laughing and smiling the whole time, they helped create exactly the right kind of atmosphere we like to capture when we're with a band. We'd like to thank Sasha Goldberg, Jane Allard, Tanya K. Palit, Rachel Leah Blumenthal, Susannah Plaster, Lisa Battiston, Michael and Sophia for putting on such a great show, and we hope you enjoy the videos!

If you are fortunate enough to see them next week at their release show at the Middle East Downstairs, here's a glimpse of what you will hear. If you can't make the show, be sure to get the album anyways.
